Designed in collaboration with Waterford City Architects, the sculpture, the bow structure and the enamelled shields in the covered performance area invoke images of a Viking Longboat, an echo of Waterford’s Viking heritage. A strong maritime feel has been incorporated into the design and the sculpture acts like a beacon to ships and yachts arriving into the city.
